I have been a self-employed entrepreneur since the age of 12. This early experience helped me realize the value of hard work and how the business world operates. I practiced law for 15 years, which provided a solid foundation for my career in real estate and gave me the knowledge to make good, sound real estate decisions. I also served as a pro tem judge for 9 years and acted as a children’s advocate in contested custody matters.
One of my top priorities as the Designated Broker and Owner is to always be accessible to our agents and staff. Brokers regularly come to me for advice in working through difficult contractual situations (and sometimes personal issues, too). Promoting the success of our brokers and maintaining an enriched, stable work environment is of the utmost importance to me.
I am a rare native Seattleite and enjoy all of the beauty that our city and the Pacific Northwest have to offer. My wife, Beth, and I have an all-consuming love of animals, from ants to elephants, and we are fascinated by the many wonders of nature. I love to experience all types of cuisine, whether it’s served in a grungy dive or the finest restaurant in town. My interests range from art and architecture to all things old and mechanical—as long as it’s not electronic, I’m interested! I’m an avid gardener with a yard full of strange and unique trees and shrubs. A favorite pastime is reading, especially biographies and books on history, and I’m always ready to tell a good story to anyone who wishes to listen!
