It’s a Dog’s World in the South Sound!
Keeping your furry friend happy and healthy in the South Sound can be easy and fun thanks to all of the fantastic doggy-focused services in the area. Whether you’re searching for a beautiful park where your pooch can run free or you’re looking for a new vet, you’ll find recommendations for it all and more right here:
“French Lake is a great off-leash dog park on 1st Ave next to Lakehaven Utility,” shares Jennifer Dovey. Terri Reade agrees, adding that “You do enter at your own risk. Just because I am in fear of aggressive dogs, I check out what other dogs are there first and how they are behaving before I bring my dog in. They do have a small fence area for smaller dogs or dogs that are more intimidated. It can be great place to have your dog off leash and visitors do their best to keep it clean.”
“My favorite dog park is in SeaTac and it’s called Grandview Off-Leash Park,” shares Maureen Donhauser. “It’s clean, huge, and has great views of the mountains.”
“I am a proud dog owner of Ruby,” shares local Terri Reade. “I take her on walks at Dash Point State Park. They have great trails and she loves it! Remember, you have to keep them on leash.”
“Lucky Paws in Twin Lakes has a cute spa menu for dogs in addition to the classic standards,” shares Allie Wobbrock. “The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.”
“The Soggy Doggy on Dash Point has DIY dog baths, grooming, and accessories. You can also opt for full service if you don't want to bathe your pooch yourself,” says Jennifer Dovey.
“Biscuits (located off 9th Ave S) is a great place for dog grooming, long-term boarding, and daycare,” says Laurel Butler. “The staff is friendly and they genuinely care about your pet and they are reasonably priced. Even my dog who gets frightened by her own shadow enjoys going there.”
“Sumner Veterinary Hospital is the best for doggie daycare and training,” recommends Linda Letney. They also have 24-hour emergency care, grooming services, surgery, and more. Allie Wobbrock says, "Edgewood Veterinary Clinic was recommended to me years ago when I moved to the area. I've been taking my kitty there regularly and have always been pleased with their service. The clinic makes you feel right at home (I believe it was a house at one point converted to a vet clinic.) They even have a resident dog and cat that greet you while you're waiting!"
