If you live in the South Sound, you don’t have to travel far to find a beautiful venue to get hitched at! From elegant barns to waterfront vistas, the South Sound has some dreamy retreats to host the event of a lifetime at. Read on for recommendations from locals.
Dumas Bay Centre
“The Dumas Bay Center is an amazing venue for a wedding or reception. The center offers beautifully landscaped grounds set on 12 acres with amazing views of the Puget Sound and Dumas Bay,” shares Terri Reade. “Imagine an afternoon wedding in their sculpture garden followed by a spectacular sunset over the Olympic Mountains as the backdrop for your evening reception. They also have guest rooms you can offer to your out-of-town family and friends that join you for your once in a lifetime event.”
With space for up to 98 people, Dumas Bay Centre features everything you need to host your wedding ceremony and reception. In addition to the stunning, lush garden setting with the Puget Sound shimmering in the background, you also have access to their executive chef and a staff that’s ready to help. They also host related events, such as rehearsal dinners, bridal luncheons, bridal showers, and more. More info can be found here.
Annie Wright Schools
“While Annie Wright Schools' availability is limited, the venue is amazing,” says Jennifer Dovey. “There is a chapel, outdoor patio big enough to host 200, a grand staircase, a library to accommodate the bridal party, and so much more. A historic site in North Tacoma.” Annie Wright’s picturesque brick exterior and beautifully manicured gardens make it the perfect setting for any event, and especially for a wedding! They have several event spaces available, from The Great Hall that can accommodate up to 200 people to the Raynow Chapel which can host up to 400 seated guests. The Kelley Farm
“One of the best wedding venues in around South Sound is Kelley Farm located along the Sumner Buckley HWY in Bonney Lake, WA,” says Victoria Movchan. “My husband and I were a part of his best friend’s wedding here this past spring and we had an absolutely splendid time. This venue is so charming and beautiful with a rustic barn featuring beautiful chandeliers where the reception was held. The ceremony was held in an outdoor grassy field full of 200 chairs for the guests overlooking the valley as the sun set—it was romantic and serene. The lovely bridal cottage and grooms quarters were, to put it plainly, absolutely picture-worthy! Every inch of this place has been meticulously planned out for the perfect day! The catering and employees here were an absolute delight, taking to every care and need of the bridal party and guests.”
For those who are looking for an elegant, rustic farm atmosphere for their big day, Kelley Farm delivers that and so much more. The venue is absolutely inspiring both inside and out, and everything you might need—from bride and groom dressing rooms to a patio that’s ready for dancing the night away—is at your fingertips.
